Century for the Super Eagle Star! Tolu Arokodare Hits 100 Career Goals After European Heroics
Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare has taken to social media to celebrate reaching the prestigious landmark of 100 career goals across club and international football.
The 25-year-old Super Eagles forward commemorated the milestone following a sensational, match-winning performance on the European stage.
Arokodare hit the century mark in dramatic fashion at the Johan Cruyff Arena during Ajax’s 2–0 victory over Italian side Atalanta in the UEFA Conference League.
Coming off the bench in the 66th minute, the Nigerian frontman broke a late deadlock in the 87th minute to record his 100th goal before setting up Abdellah Ouazane in stoppage time to secure the win.
The decisive display earned Ajax their first points of the Conference League campaign while snapping a 14-match home winless streak against Italian opposition.
Across 284 professional appearances in Latvia, Germany, France, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, and international duty with Nigeria, Arokodare has now amassed 100 goals and 15 assists, bringing his total direct goal contributions to 115.
Taking to social media after the match, the forward reflected on his journey with humility and determination:
“100 career goals. Grateful for this journey I am on and the path that God has paved for me. It is Him and all the people along the way who have got me here, and for that I am thankful. The journey continues. God is the greatest.”
