Samuel Chukwueze Masterclass Drives AC Milan Past Torino as Super Eagles Stars Light Up Europe

Samuel Chukwueze picked up right where he left off, delivering a brilliant performance to power AC Milan to a 2-1 victory over Torino on the opening weekend of the Serie A campaign.

If you thought his pre-season masterclass against Manchester United was a fluke, think again!

The Nigerian international earned a spot in Ruben Amorim’s starting XI and logged a full 90 minutes as the Rossoneri claimed all three points away from home.

After Alphadjo Cisse opened the scoring in the 64th minute, Chukwueze stepped up three minutes later to set up Adrien Rabiot for Milan’s second.

Che Adams pulled one back deep in stoppage time for Maroon, but it served as mere consolation.

With the win putting Milan fourth in the standings, Chukwueze will be eager to keep commanding a starting role under his new head coach after earning man of the match award.

Over in the Premier League, Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna made his top-flight debut as Brighton & Hove Albion crushed Aston Villa 4-0 at the Amex Stadium.

Coming off the bench in the 78th minute for Mats Wieffer, the winger posted a solid 6.2 DAZN rating, completing all 5 of his passes in the opposition half.

The Seagulls soared thanks to a Jack Hinshelwood double, a Maxim De Cuyper strike, and a Victor Lindelöf own goal.

Meanwhile, in La Liga, Ademola Lookman featured for 79 minutes as Atletico Madrid clawed back to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw against Villarreal.

Despite 10-man Colchoneros losing Robin Le Normand to a red card, Giuliano Simeone struck late to rescue a point.

It wasn’t all smiles across the continent, however. Akor Adams suffered a difficult Serie A debut, playing 90 minutes in Venezia’s 2-0 home loss to Lecce.
