Ryan Sessegnon opened the scoring for the Premier League club in the 24th minute. Four minutes later, Spanish striker Carlos Ruiz Rubio, popularly known as Chupete, restored parity for Malaga.

Iwobi then put the Cottagers back in front in the 57th minute. The midfielder fired into an empty net after a fine team move, with Sessegnon providing the assist.

The Nigerian international was replaced a few minutes after the hour mark as Fulham looked to protect their lead and secure a pre-season victory.

However, Malaga had the final say.

Eneko Jauregi converted from the penalty spot deep into added time to rescue a 2-2 draw for the Spanish side after the regulation 90 minutes had elapsed.

Iwobi has been a key figure for the Cottagers over the past few seasons. He established himself as an important member of the squad under former manager Marco Silva and has continued to grow in influence.

Since joining Fulham, the Nigerian international has matured significantly as a player, scoring 19 goals and providing 11 assists in 110 appearances across all competitions.

With the new campaign fast approaching, Iwobi will be eager to carry his impressive pre-season form into the 2026/27 season.

For the Cottagers, his creativity, experience and growing goal threat could prove crucial as they look to achieve their objectives in the new campaign.
