Super Falcons Set for Ghana Test Ahead of WAFCON 2026 Title Mission
The Super Falcons of Nigeria will continue their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with an international friendly against the Black Queens of Ghana on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Stade El Arbi Zaouli. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. WAT.
As the 14th edition of WAFCON Morocco 2026 draws closer, the defending champions and 10-time continental winners will use the encounter as part of their build-up to the tournament, where they will be aiming to successfully defend their African crown.
Falcons will begin the defence of their continental crown on July 28, 2026, when they lock horns with Malawi in this year’s continental showpiece.
Nigeria won its 10th WAFCON title last year after staging a remarkable comeback from two goals down to defeat hosts Morocco 3–2 in the final.
All eyes will be on the Super Falcons as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Nigerians, and football lovers across the continent rally behind the team in their quest for a record-extending 11th continental title.
Nigeria remains the most successful nation in WAFCON history with 10 titles. Equatorial Guinea has won the tournament twice, while South Africa’s Banyana Banyana lifted the trophy in 2022.
