Viral Video of Hanks Anuku Sparks Concern Among Fans
A viral video showing veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku sitting by a roadside in Abuja has sparked concern and mixed reactions among Nigerians on social media.
The footage, said to have been recorded in Wuse 2 on Saturday, June 27, 2026, shows the 64-year-old actor seated by the roadside while holding a disposable paper cup and appearing to speak to himself.
The video was shared on Instagram by blogger Stella Dimoko Korkus, who said she could not confirm whether the footage was part of a movie production but maintained that the man in the video was the veteran actor.
She also expressed concern over the recording and circulation of the clip, describing it as an invasion of the actor’s privacy despite the good intentions of the person who shared it.
The video quickly drew widespread reactions, with some social media users calling for support and assistance for the actor, while others urged Nigerians not to make assumptions about his condition based solely on the footage.
One user, identified as Slekieeee, wrote, “You can’t cover these things up! Get him the right help and rescue him once and for all.”
Another user, Alex Okoroji, took a different view, saying, “He is just laying down in green pastures, don’t see anything wrong with a man getting in tune with nature.”
A third commenter, adalovelyn44, wrote, “This is sad.”
“This guy needs to be taken to a rehab. Where are his family members and colleagues? This is the time to act.”
