Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to steer Nigeria through its current challenges, saying the administration will continue to receive divine guidance in delivering on its development agenda.

Umahi spoke on Thursday during an inspection of ongoing bridge projects in Lagos, where he also announced that reconstruction work on the Carter Bridge will commence next week.

The minister said he remained optimistic that the Tinubu administration would overcome security and other national challenges confronting the country.

“The same God that brought him is going to be there to solve all the problems,” Umahi said, calling on Nigerians to support government efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability across the nation.

He noted that no government welcomes crises but stressed that leadership requires confronting difficult situations when they arise.

“There is no leader who will not want his reign to be peaceful, but when crises come, the leader must confront them. That is exactly what we are doing,” he stated.

According to the minister, the government is committed to addressing insecurity and ensuring that key infrastructure projects are completed under the current administration.

Expressing confidence in the President’s leadership, Umahi added: “Whether these challenges are politically motivated or not, I believe God will continue to grant him the wisdom and strength to overcome them.”

On infrastructure development, the minister disclosed that reconstruction of the Carter Bridge is scheduled to begin next week as part of the Federal Government’s broader plan to rehabilitate critical transport infrastructure.

He explained that the project is expected to be completed within three years and forms part of the administration’s long-term development programme.

“It is within our five-year plan,” Umahi said.

The minister further expressed optimism that ongoing projects initiated by the administration would be completed successfully, adding, “Your hands that have started this will complete it.”

The inspection tour formed part of the Federal Government’s efforts to monitor the progress of strategic infrastructure projects across the country.
