Bonny Youths Hail King Edward’s Legacy as Monarch Marks 61st Birthday

As His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Edward I, Perekule XI, Natural Ruler and Amanyanabo of Grand Bonny Kingdom, celebrates his 61st birthday on Thursday, June 11, 2026, the Bonny Youth Federation is paying glowing tribute to a monarch it describes as a symbol of wisdom, unity, and transformational leadership.

The youth body says the Kingdom remains fortunate to be under the leadership of a king whose reign continues to inspire confidence, peace, and progress across generations.

In a goodwill message issued on behalf of Bonny youths, Leader of the Bonny Youth Federation, Anthony Banigo, congratulates the revered monarch on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a father figure whose leadership has continued to shape the destiny of Ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom.

Banigo says King Edward’s reign stands out for its patience, humility, inclusiveness, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Bonny people.

“Today, we celebrate not only the gift of Your Majesty’s life but also the immeasurable blessings that your reign has brought upon our beloved Kingdom.”

He notes that the King’s visionary approach to leadership, anchored on selfless service and genuine concern for the people, continues to foster hope and strengthen unity within the Kingdom.

According to him, the monarch remains a beacon of stability and dignity, guiding Bonny through periods of both challenges and successes while preserving the values and traditions that define the ancient kingdom.

The youth leader particularly acknowledges the King’s openness to engaging young people, saying his inclusive style of leadership has created opportunities for growth, participation, and meaningful contributions to the development of Bonny Kingdom.

“As Bonny youths, we are particularly grateful for Your Majesty’s open-hearted and inclusive disposition, which has provided opportunities for engagement, growth, and meaningful participation in the development of our Kingdom.”

He adds that the King’s reign continues to serve as a shining example of leadership founded on wisdom, justice, and compassion.

Offering prayers for the monarch, the Bonny Youth Federation wishes him many more years of good health, divine strength, peace of mind, and continued accomplishments on the throne.

“May He preserve and prosper Your Majesty, and may your reign continue to witness greater accomplishments and enduring prosperity for Ancient Grand Bonny Kingdom.”

The federation also reaffirms its loyalty and support to the throne, pledging to remain committed to the unity, development, and advancement of Bonny Kingdom under the King’s leadership.

King Edward, who clocks 61 on June 11, remains one of Nigeria’s most respected traditional rulers, with over three decades on the throne and a reign widely associated with institutional reforms, peacebuilding, cultural preservation, and strategic development initiatives that continue to shape the future of Grand Bonny Kingdom.
