Davido Appointed Youth Mobilisation Head in Osun Campaign
Nigerian music star Davido has officially taken up a political role in Osun State after being named the Head of Youth Mobilisation for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s 2026 re-election campaign council.
The development became public on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, as both the artiste and the campaign structure confirmed the appointment through official communication and public statements.
Davido himself broke the news on his verified social media account, X (formerly Twitter) where he issued a clear acceptance of the role and declared his readiness to support the campaign.
He wrote:
“I have been appointed by the Governor of OSUN STATE @AAdeleke_01 and flag bearer of the ACCORD PARTY as HEAD YOUTH MOBILIZATION OF CAMPAIGN COUNCIL! We look forward to a smooth campaign and your RE-election, Your Excellency! 4+4.”
The statement immediately circulated across media platforms and marked his formal acceptance of the position.
On the other hand, the campaign structure backing Governor Ademola Adeleke also confirmed the appointment the same day, stating that Davido had been brought into the campaign council to lead youth-focused mobilisation efforts ahead of the August 8, 2026 Osun governorship election.
According to the campaign’s communication, the decision was aimed at strengthening engagement with young voters and increasing political participation among youths across the state.
With the role now officially activated, Davido is expected to coordinate youth mobilisation strategies, support grassroots engagement, and amplify campaign messages targeted at younger demographics through both physical outreach and digital platforms.
Political observers note that the appointment reflects the increasing influence of celebrity figures in Nigerian electoral politics, particularly in shaping youth participation and voter turnout.
The development has continued to generate reactions across social and political spaces, as attention shifts toward how the campaign will leverage Davido’s influence in the build-up to the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
