POLICE WEEK : Khana Division Engages In Environmental Sanitation Exercise
The Nigeria Police Force Division in Khana Local Government Area has embarkes in a sanitation exercise across locations within the Bori Metropolis.
The activity, which is a part of many was done to commemorate the Police week, took place on Wednesday, March 31, 2026.

Speaking on the exercise, thethe Director of Press and Public Communications for Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, Barry Neemana, expressed his satisfaction with the Officer’s efforts of promoting a hygienic and clean environment, while he received the police leadership at the council Secretariat.
Barry commended their dedication and pledged to relay the development to the Council head, noting that his Principal is a strong supporter of impactful community initiatives.
Police officers, led by the Area Commander, Abba Frank, and the Divisional Police Officer of Bori Division, Kenneth Dimkpa, actively participated in cleaning major roads, markets, and public spaces.


According to them, the exercise is aimed not only to improve environmental sanitation but also to promote public health and strengthen the relationship between the police and the people.
“This exercise underscores the Force’s commitment to community engagement and environmental responsibility beyond its core mandate of maintaining law and order.”

Excitedly, residents and passers-by also joined the exercise, working side by side with officers in a commendable display of unity and shared responsibility.
Meanwhile, members of the public applauded the initiative, by the Police Force, describing it as a needed step toward ensuring the establishment of mutual respect and cooperation between the police and the public.

Many expressed optimism that such engagements would be sustained to further enhance community policing.
The police leadership, speaking during the exercise, emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is a collective responsibility. They urged residents to sustain proper sanitation practices to help curb the spread of diseases.
