Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman continued his red-hot form with a goal for Atlético Madrid against Real Madrid in Sunday’s fierce Madrid derby clash.

Making his debut in one of football’s most intense rivalries, Lookman struck first, but Atlético could not hold on as Real stormed back to secure a dramatic 3–2 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Lookman scores in Madrid derby but Real Madrid respond in style
Lookman’s early breakthrough set the tone, marking his second La Liga goal and continuing an impressive run since joining Atlético.
The Nigerian winger has now contributed eight goals for the club in just 14 appearances, underlining his growing influence in La Liga.
However, the spotlight soon shifted to Vinícius Júnior, who delivered a match-winning brace to inspire Real Madrid’s comeback.
After falling behind before halftime, Real turned the game around within ten explosive minutes in the second half, with Vinícius converting a penalty before Federico Valverde added another.
Atlético briefly found hope through a stunning strike from Nahuel Molina, but Vinícius sealed the win with a superb curled effort.

Despite a late red card for Valverde and intense pressure from Atlético, Real held firm to close the gap on league leaders Barcelona.
Awaziem assist not enough as Nantes collapse against Strasbourg
In France, Chidozie Awaziem impressed for FC Nantes, but his contribution could not prevent a painful defeat.
The Nigerian defender provided an assist to put Nantes ahead, showcasing his attacking contribution despite playing from the back.
However, Nantes once again struggled to maintain their advantage, eventually falling 3–2 to RC Strasbourg Alsace at the Stade de la Beaujoire.
Awaziem now has three goal contributions this season, but his efforts were overshadowed by a late comeback led by Strasbourg forward Joaquín Panichelli, who scored twice to seal victory.
The defeat leaves Nantes still battling near the relegation zone, while Strasbourg’s impressive unbeaten run continues to push them closer to the European places.
