Police Arrests Murder Suspects, Recovers Victim’s Remains

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has attained yet another significant feat in its combat against heinous crimes in Rivers State.

Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) gave this indication on Monday, January 5, 2026, in statement in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

She informed that the operatives of the State Pilice Command successfully arrested the suspected murderers of one Sampson Worianime, who was last seen on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in the company of 11 other youths.

CSP Iringe-Koko stated that the deceased and the 11 other youths were sent to secure a land in one of the old settlements of Okrika known as Olomu Ogbogbo.

However, 11 of them returned, with life threatening injuries, except Sampson Worianime.

According to her, the Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit instantly swung into action scting on a distressing petition by the victim’s mother, Angela Worianime, leveraging on available intelligence which led to the arrest of two suspects, including one Igwe Alex, Male, aged 26 years, who is a former chief security officer of Aleto-Eleme Community, and John Mikel, male, aged 24.

Upon investigation, the suspects confessed to abducting two youths from Okrika, one escaped and Sampson was killed and dumped in a nearby river.

Furthermore, the suspects led Police operatives to recover the remains of the victims from a shallow grave and are currently in Police custody cooperating with the investigation team and efforts are been made to apprehend other suspects.

She informed that the State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju has given a directive that all perpetrators of the crime will face the full extent of the law.

The Command has assured citizens of it’s commitment to bring all crimes to book, advising the public to provide any relevant information to aid the ongoing investigation.
