Women Converge 2025: Fubara’s Wife Hails Women for Pacesetting, Despite Home Pressure
Wife of Rivers State Governor, Valerie Siminalayi has hailed the women for setting the pace in diverse aspects of the society, despite the pressures they face at home and from their various family.
Mrs. Siminalayi said this on Thursday, November 27, 2025 during the Women Converge 2025, a program organized by Rivers Women Unite for Sim (RWUS) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking on the theme of the event: “The Woman in an Evolving World: Persevering in Praise and Prayer with Thanksgiving”, the Governor’s wife commended the women for their resilience and unwavering spirit, noting that women have continued to raise the bar high in business, agriculture, public service and politics.
“Women have always been pacesetters. Our determination to adapt and excel remains evident, even in a rapidly evolving world. Despite the pressures of home and the realities of the economy, our faith in God and our drive for excellence continue to guide us.”
She urged women to remain steadfast in prayer, calling on men to also join in interceding for the State and the nation, expressing gratitude to RWUS for their solidarity and support during challenging moments faced by her family.
Delivering a goodwill message, a former Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja commended Rivers women for their prayers, which he said have contributed to the peace and progress currently enjoyed in the State.
He applauded the vision of RWUS, urging that future gatherings include men, as the convergence of both men and women will further strengthen collective development.
The electrifying atmosphere, marked by songs of praise, prayers, and expressions of thanksgiving, reaffirmed the vital role of women in shaping society. Organisers and participants a like hailed the 2025 edition as a resounding success, setting the tone for even greater engagements in the coming years.
The converge drew participates from across Rivers State and beyond all united in their commitment to inspire change, strengthen families and contribute to societal development.
