Rivers Police Place Temporary Ban On Movement Against Elections
As a way of preparing for the local government elections, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has placed a temporary restriction of human and vehicular movements, save those on essential duties.
Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, who announced this, informed that the ban will be from 12midnight on Friday to 6pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

The Command has advised all citizens to cooperate with the security agencies to ensure a hitch free election as it seeks to maintain law and order, before, during and after the elections.
The Command has also put in place some measures which includes adequate deployment of security operatives to all lands and water ways to guarantee security of voting ambience.
The Command has also disassociated itself from falsified reports going viral on social media, adding that such reports do not come from their corner, while urging residents to remain calm and comply with orders
