As Christians the world over commemorate the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi, has called on staff and students to renew their commitment to excellence, unity, and shared progress within the institution’s community.
In an Easter message made available to Kristina Reports, today, Prof. Zeb-Obipi reflected on the deeper significance of Christ’s resurrection, describing it as a time of hope, renewal, and triumph over adversity.

He expressed confidence that the collective efforts of RSU community would drive the institution toward a brighter future.
“Easter brings the reassurance and hope that our tomorrow as a university would be better than our today and yesterday”.
He extended warm Easter wishes to both staff, students and all stakeholders of the school, encouraging them to draw inspiration from the values that Easter represents which is love, compassion, and kindness.
According to him, these values should inspire individuals to make meaningful contributions within the university and society at large, particularly in alignment with the institution’s ongoing re-engineering agenda.
Prof. Zeb-Obipi praised the dedication and resilience of the university community, noting that their commitment continues to fuel RSU’s strides in teaching, learning, research, and community service.
He highlighted the importance of fostering an academic environment grounded in inclusivity, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.
“As we celebrate Easter, let us remember the importance of community, empathy, and support for one another, may we continue to foster an environment that promotes inclusivity, creativity, and intellectual curiosity with a sufficiently bonding sense of community.”
He concluded the message by wishing all Christian faithful a joyful celebration with their loved ones and expressed hope that the season would usher in a renewed spirit of creativity and excellence across the university.
The Vice Chancellor’s Easter message is considered as a reaffirmation of his administration’s commitment to nurturing a cohesive, promising and forward-looking academic community in the Niger Delta region.
