The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) says the 2025 Local Government Elections will hold on Saturday, August 9, 2025 across the State.

Chairman of RSIEC, Adolphus Enebeli announced this on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 during a Stakeholders Meeting held at the Commission’s office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Commission also unveiled the guidelines for the 2025 Local Government Council Elections in the State.

Justice Enebeli assured stakeholders that RSIEC is committed to conducting a free, fair, and credible election.

The chairman also urged all political parties to strictly adhere to the electoral rules and guidelines.

According to him, this development is significant for the upcoming local government elections in Rivers State.

He asserted that stakeholders are expected to comply with the guidelines to ensure a smooth electoral process.
