Governor Fubara’s Directive: Anengi Claude-Wilcox Hands Over to HLGA, Reflects on Achievements

In compliance with the directive of Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara and in line with the Supreme Court judgment, Anengi Claude-Wilcox, has officially handed over all documents and properties of Bonny Local Government Area (LGA) to Innocent Nwuchegbuo, the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Bonny.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, Claude-Wilcox acknowledged the support of Governor Fubara, describing him as a “most peaceful and God-fearing leader” committed to the interests of Rivers State.

She also extended appreciation to His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, DSSRS, JP, Perekule XI, and the Bonny Chiefs Council for their support throughout her tenure.

Reflecting on her time in office, she highlighted several key projects executed under her leadership, including Procurement of a MAN Diesel Sanitation Actuator Truck for the waste-to-wealth project.

She also listed the acquisition of a tow van and 20 mini buses for empowerment programs, provision of an ambulance for Primary Healthcare Services.

Others are: Survey and clearance of 5 hectares (108 plots) of land for the new Bonny Cemetery, Completion of the Banigo/Benstowe 200-meter bridge and the Kuruama Shore Protection project.

Acquisition of 30 plots of land for a Mechanic Village (initial payment made), procurement of official vehicles for the Legislative Leader and Council Secretary, Commencement of drainage construction projects including one along Hospital Road and another at Anengi Bypass Road.

Launch of the Bonny All Secondary Schools Sports Festival, Execution of a Skill Acquisition Program and student grants for 300 beneficiaries, ongoing construction of the Jackmay-Christy-Wilcox footbridge.

Installation of an electronic billboard at Queen Kambasa Hall, Old Bonny Market Square.

Claude-Wilcox thanked stakeholders, party supporters, and residents for their trust and collaboration, assuring them of her commitment to serving Bonny and Rivers State in the future.

She urged continued prayers for Governor Fubara, emphasizing the need to protect the interests and resources of Rivers people.

“Let us have faith in God and keep our hopes alive,” she said reaffirming her dedication to public service.
