Khana LGA Chairman Signs N12.5B 2025 Budget into Law Under Tree, Pledges Development, Prosperity

Sitting under a tree at the Secretariat of his Local Government Council, the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Martins Nwigbo signed the 2025 Appropriation Law, sealing a N12.5 billion budget, which he said aims at driving infrastructural development and economic growth across the area.

The budget, which was passed by the Khana Local Government Legislative Council after thorough deliberation, prioritizes capital expenditure, signaling a shift toward tangible development projects over administrative costs.

Describing it as a “budget of prosperity,” Nwigbo assured the people of Khana of his administration’s commitment to full implementation.

“We are ready to implement what is in the budget for 2025 because this is the people’s budget. The budget of prosperity, the budget of making Khana great again”.

He further emphasized the council’s focus on attracting investments that will drive sustainable development and improve livelihoods.

The Leader of the Legislative Council, Bright Firibeb, praised the legislative process, highlighting the council’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and project-focused spending.

“With this budget, Khana will be great again because we have allocated more funds to capital expenditure, breaking away from past practices”.

Firibeb also commended the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation for their meticulous review of the 128 page fiscal document, a process that spanned over two weeks.

Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and Appropriation, Michael Gbarale congratulated both the Chairman and the Legislative Council on the budget’s successful passage, expressing confidence in its execution under Nwigbo’s leadership.

The 2025 Appropriation Law is expected to guide fiscal activities for the year, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure development, economic growth, and social welfare improvements for the people of Khana.
