A political realignment is unfolding in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, as a group of former supporters of the Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Barry Mpigi, came out enmasse to identify with the SIMplified Movement.
The supporters who are from Koroma/Horo (Ward 4) said their switching political camps had become inevitable, citing dissatisfaction with their previous political leadership.

The returnees, led by Koote Kue, were officially received at the Tai Local Government Liaison Office, Nonwa, by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Peter Medee.
The event was attended by key political figures, including the Chairman of Tai Local Government Area, Matthew Dike.

Dike noted the challenges faced by residents of Koroma and Horo communities despite years of political representation and reassured the returnees of the local administration’s commitment to their welfare under the leadership of the Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
To further integrate the returning members, the Chairman announced the appointment of Barienee Kio as Chief Protocol to the Chairman and Austin Obenaade as Personal Assistant, following a recent reshuffle.

Speaking at the event, Medee emphasized the need for inclusive leadership and urged the people of Ward 4 to align with political structures that prioritize development and empowerment.
Kue, on behalf of the returnees, expressed their commitment to the Simplified Movement and pledged to support Governor Fubara’s administration, advocating for wider participation from Ward 4 in the movement’s vision for progress.
