The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has expressed its readiness to partner with the leadership of Bonny Kingdom in Rivers State to deepen security in the area, as well seek greater collaboration in diverse areas.

The Area Commander for Bori Area Command of the NPF, Frank Abba, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), said this on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 when he paid a courtesy visit on the Bonny Chiefs Council (BCC) at the King Perekule Palace, Bonny.

ACP Abba was received by the Chairman of Bonny Chiefs Council, Se-Alabo Dagogo Soala Claude-Wilcox, MON, who represented the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Edward I, Perekule XI.

The Area Commander was accompanied on the visit by other officers under his Command, particularly, the Divisional Police Officers of Bonny and Finima Divisions, Anthony Anyalechi and Aminu Babayo, both of whom are Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs).

He stated that it was necessary to meet with the leadership of the Kingdom to abreast them of his assignment in their domain as the Commander of Bori Area Command.

“I came about one month ago as the Area Commander for Bori Division. I am here to let you know that I am in your domain. I cannot come to your land without coming to let you know.

“I would like to know how things are done, and the peculiar challenges you are facing to enable us know how to go about them. We need to work together.”

Responding, Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Perekule XI, speaking through the Chairman of Bonny Chiefs Council, Se-Alabo Dagogo Soala Claude-Wilcox, MON, assured the new Area Commander of the support and cooperation of Bonny Kingdom to enable him succeed.

He pointed out that the Kingdom’s support and cooperation remains undaunted since it’s for the greater good of her people.

The Bonny Kingdom Monarch informed his guest that Bonny is a kingdom of 34 Chieftaincy Houses under one King, enjoining him to always consult the leadership of the Kingdom to have more understanding of how things are done in Bonny Kingdom.

Also speaking, the Chief and Head of Attoni House, Se-Alabo Abel Attoni admonished the Police and other security agencies in Bonny LGA to be careful of their conduct so as not to distort the traditional administrative structure and homogeneity of Bonny Kingdom
