The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit has arrested four notorious kidnappers linked to a series of abductions in Jabi, Dutse village, Lugbe, and other surrounding areas.
Police Spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, stated that the arrest of the kidnappers is a result of the Command’s intensified efforts to tackle the growing surge of kidnappings in the region.
“These individuals have terrorized communities for a long time, but due to the relentless efforts of our officers, we were able to intercept and arrest them before they could carry out further attacks in Abuja and Niger.”
The suspects, captured in a coordinated operation, have confessed to being involved in several kidnapping cases in Kaduna, Niger, and the FCT.
Adeh described the operation as timely noting that the apprehension was done while the group was plotting another attack. She highlighted that it disrupted the kidnappers’ plans and saved the intended victim.
“They were gearing up for another round of kidnappings, but we managed to neutralize the threat before any harm could be done,”
The investigation is still underway, and the suspects will be prosecuted soon. The Police have called on the public to stay alert and report any unusual activities to the authorities.
