The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Nyesom Wike, has reassured residents of the FCT that his administration is committed to reviewing and upgrading the Abuja Master Plan.
Wike made this known when he hosted the Ambassador of Japan to Nigeria, Matsunaga Kazuyoshi and his team in his office in Abuja on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Kazuyoshi, who led a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), met with the FCT minister to discuss starting work on upgrading Abuja’s Integrated Urban Development Master Plan.
The delegation also sought the minister’s backing for key JICA initiatives, including its nutrition improvement program.
The Minister mentioned that the Review and Enhancement of Abuja’s Integrated Urban Development Master Plan would be carried out in collaboration with JICA. he noted that this is to ensure that the project is completed properly and on time.
According to Wike, “For us, be assured that it is a project that we are committed to, and we will do all we can to see that the project comes to fruition”
The Minister promised the JICA team that all the expectations from the FCTA for the implementation of the project would be made in due course.
