An advocacy group in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mba Okase Initiative is calling on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to address the glaring imbalance and political subjugation of Ebubu Ward 4 in Eleme LGA.

Leader of the group, Dr. Patience Osaroejiji in an interview with Kristina Reports recently in Eleme noted that if this imbalance is addressed it will upscale the political fortunes of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in the 2027 elections.

She stated that Ebubu Ward 4, though the largest ward in Eleme, has never had a Local Government Chairman and should be given the opportunity to produce same.

She argued that all wards in Eleme LGA had produced a local government council chairman or chairman of caretaker committee except Ebubu, wondering if the chairmanship was for other Wards alone.

Dr Osaroejiji appealed to the Governor to heed the call of Ebubu people and give the opportunity to an Ebubu son, Emmanuel Nwafor, who is vying for chairmanship now on the platform of Accord Party.

The Mba Okase Initiative leader said having worked with Emmanuel Nwafor, she could attest to his credibility and astute competence to galvanise support for the SIM Fubara led administration.

Checks by Kristina Reports indicates that Ebubu has never had a local government chairman, commissioner, or any state government appointee despite its huge political investments in electing successive administrations.

This situation prompted the traditional institution of Ebubu to make a public appeal to Governor Fubara to consider worthy Ebubu sons into his cabinet.

Further checks by Kristina Reports, revealed that Aleto Ward 10, a community in Eleme LGA has produced a former two term chairman of Eleme LGA under the Rotimi Amaechi administration and a one term chairman under the Nyesom Wike administration.

Kristina Reports finidings also indicate that the current Caretaker Committee Chairman, who is also a top contender for the chairmanship position in the forthcoming local government elections, is also from Aleto Community.
