In an extraordinary demonstration of commitment and show of love amidst the harsh economic realities in the country, member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Warisenibo Cyril Hart, decided to take his philanthropic disposition to another level.
This was manifested as he initiated an ambitious drive worth over N15 million aimed at obviating the sufferings of his constituents beginning with a cash transfer drive on Bonny Youth 360 group on Facebook and other online platforms with beneficiaries receiving between N20,000 and 50,000.
In a telephone chat with Kristina Reports, Warisenibo Hart said that he decided to raise the bar of magnamity with yet another show of love to widows, widowers, unemployed youths and the vulnerable including people living with disabilities (PLWDs) with cash gifts and food stuffs to cushion the effect of the current hardship being faced in the country.
He explained that the gesture was a demonstration of his empathy for his constituents and a way of supporting the Federal Government’s efforts at cushioning the effects of hardship on the people.
“So far, N2 million has been disbursed through two different channels to my constituents, that’s making N4 million; we intend to constitute a committee next week to also identify the less privileged across my constituency, so we can also reach out to them.
“This initiative will incorporate cash disbursements and food palliatives such as rice and other stuffs. We hope these efforts will help cushion the effects of hardship on my people. It’s my way of supporting the federal Government and President Tinubu’s efforts at intervening to calm things down.”
Checks by Kristina Reports indicate that this is not the first time, the federal lawmaker is engaging his constituents with regards to disbursing palliatives as he has continued to reach out to his constitnuent through diverse channels.
Putting perspective to the intervention, Convener of Bonny Youth 360, Tamunoforiokuma Tobin, popularly known as Redd Awanta, told Kristina Reports that so far, 70 persons have benefited with 30 more to go in Bonny LGA, saying that 100 persons is the target.
He described the gesture by Rep Cyril Hart as a demonstration of faith in humanity, stressing that the federal legislator has always exuded the kindness, empathy and humane nature of his in favour of his people.
“This is great. It is faith in humanity restored. It means, He is human, before being a politician, he is kind.”
Meanwhile, some of the beneficiaries have continued to pour encomiums and express their gratitude to the member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency for his intervention in their lives, stressing that he has again shown that leadership can have tinges of humanity.
One of them, Deborah Allison wrote on her Facebook wall “I must appreciate your unwavering commitment to helping the Bonny people. You have remembered the people. May your good speak for you, and may you be remembered. Continue your fantastic effort, Sir. Rep Cyril Hart”.
Another one, MC Nelly, wrote “Rep Cyril Hart. Baba you dey really represent, for all your efforts in making people and families happy may God bless you specially”.
Also, Pastor Carol Benstowe, Senior Pastor of Revelation International Bible Ministry, wrote “Rep Cyril Hart, my vote for you no waste, any other election you are coming out me and my entire congregation and children will give you vote 💯”.
She also added Mr. Redman to the appreciation, saying “Redd Awanta thank you my love for you 💯. This is the first time widows are being remembered. Widows pass through hell I am one of them. But I am an exceptional widow”.
Another beneficiary, Lawrence Williams wrote “Thanks very much Boss Rep Cyril Hart, May God Almighty replenish your purse in a million folds. Amen. #urfavouriteteacher’sson”.
On his part, Chairman of Disabled Persons Association, Bonny Chapter, Blessed Sa-Lucky thanked Rep Cyril Hart for the kind gesture to members of his association, noting that the disposition to reach out to the needy, less privileged and those living with disabilities is such that deserves high commendation.
Speaking during the palliatives distribution, which held at the Bonny Youth Federation (BYF) premises in Bonny, Rivers State, Chairman of the Palliative Committee, Pastor Carol Benstowe, commended the federal lawmaker for the gesture, prayed God Almighty to replenish him and make ways for him to continue to prosper.
She was accompanied by other members of the committee; Dr Bara Kabaka Brown, Emmanuel Hart, and Briannah Hart, among others.
“For him to have remembered this multitude of people to take care of them at his level and capacity, I want to say thank you, Sir. We have been able to reach at least over 600 to 700 persons because the crowd that is here is overwhelming.”
“As much as possible, we have been able to reach out to a large number of persons and people have been expressing their happiness that, at least, this came at a time when the country is facing hardship.”
She and her committee members expressed their gratitude to Rep Cyril Hart for the privilege to serve in such capacity, extolling his magnanimity and disposition to reaching out continuously to members of his constituency.
