Port Harcourt Polo Club Anticipates “Renewed Passion for Polo” as New Leadership Emerges

The Port Harcourt Polo Club on Monday, July 1, 2024, announced the formation of a new management committee for the upcoming 2024/2025 season, anticipating a year filled with thrilling polo matches, engaging equestrian events, and a renewed passion for the sport of polo.

The management committee which was formed to pilot the affairs of the club in the coming PH polo season was created after an election which was carried out at the Port Harcourt Polo Club on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

The committee comprises; Henry Abodjan as president, Dolapo Attoni as vice, and Kester Buzugbe as secretary, with nine others, taking the committee tally to 12.

After the general election, the captain position remained vacant and was to be filled up in a separate “captains election” by PH polo players which was held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, birthing the tenure of Ike Nebolisa as the new captain of the PH polo club.

The PH Polo Club via its social media, expressed confidence in the capacity, tenacity and ability of the new leadership to guide the club within the time frame to a notable and enviable height.

The Club which was established in 1972 by the Nigerian Army and was later handed over to civilian management in 1974, said its new leadership team is expected to bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to continue the club’s tradition of excellence.
