In a decisive move, aimed at restructuring administrative operations within Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, the Mayor, Ezebunwo Ichemati has dissolved all standing committees with immediate effect.
The announcement, made through a public statement eh personally signed and issued on Thursday, June 20, 2024 impacts committees overseeing crucial areas such as revenue collection, sanitation, motor parks, and various ad hoc responsibilities established by the previous administration.
According to the directive, all committee members are instructed to promptly return all properties belonging to the City Council under their custody to the office of the Chairman.

In addition to the dissolution of committees, the Mayor issued a stern warning to companies operating within the local government jurisdiction, advising them to desist from engaging in any transactions with unauthorized individuals or entities claiming affiliation with the City Council.
