A’Ibom Government Boosts Free Education With Donation of Exercise Books and School Bags

Pastor Umo Eno, governor of Akwa Ibom state has put words to action with the donation of exercise books and school bags to pupils in public primary schools in the state.

This is in a bid to enhance the quality of education and provide equal opportunities for all.

the Akwa Ibom State government has commenced the distribution of one million free exercise books and school bags to pupils in public primary schools across the state.

According to the Commissioner for Education, Idongesit Etiebet who flagged off the distribution exercise, the books and school bags are part of the State government’s efforts to ensure that every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background.

She emphasized that education is a collective responsibility and urged parents and guardians to rise to their responsibilities by ensuring that the provided materials are properly maintained.

The exercise, which kicked off at Christ the King Model School in Uyo, will see the Education Ministry distribute the one million exercise books and school bags to pupils across the 31 local government areas of the state.

” This move is expected to boost the morale of pupils, teachers, and parents, and enhance the overall learning experience in public primary schools” she added

Reacting to the development, the Head Teacher of Christ the King Model School, Mrs. Ukeme Udofia, appreciated Governor Umo Eno for his administration’s commitment to education.

She promised to reciprocate the gesture by maintaining the facilities put in place in the school and ensure that pupils make good use of it to improve their grades.

It could be recalled that at the commissioning of the remodeled Christ the King Primary School, the governor had promised the distribution of educational materials such as exercise books, school bags, socks, and shoes to pupils in public schools.
