An activist, Emmanuel Hart has threatened to sue the Chairman of Finima Youth Congress (FYC), Charles Brown for allegedly leading an assault on him and his co-protesters.

Hart, who is the National Chairman of Youth Coalition for Good Governance (YCGG) and also doubles as the spokesperson of the Bonny Concerned Youths, called for the arrest of the FYC Chairman, who he accused of allegedly “leading his team with armed thugs to the scene were a peaceful protest was on and started hitting the peaceful protesters with machetes, rods, bottles and all manner of weapons”.

In a statement signed by him and made available to Kristina Reports, the YCGG boss said the the alleged attack on him and the protesters was “In a bid to truncate the process and gain access to the company’s premises”.

The Finima Youth Congress Chairman, Charles Brown has denied the allegations, saying youths of Finima went there with security operatives to forestall a breakdown of law and order allegedly orchestrated by Emmanuel Hart and one Idamina Tobin, who claimed they were protesting the non-employment of Finima youths by Evomec.

He, however, added that his men were gallant enough to defeat the attackers.

“They were defeated as the protesters were gallant enough to assuage them,” he said, adding that “they resorted to conniving with some security agents to manoeuvre but all proved abortive”.

“The company, EVOMEC Global Services Limited was shut down for their irresponsible and flagrant abuse of conventional code of employment on Bonny Island as the company brashly ignored the authentic list of persons recommended for employment from our sovereign monarch, His Royal Majesty, King (Dr.) Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, JP, Perekule XI Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Grand Bonny Kingdom, four months ago”.

Emmanuel Hart, ostensibly referring to the initial list sent by the Palace Secretary, Chief Abel Attoni, described the list handled by Evomec as “fraudulent”.

“EVOMEC Global Services Limited preference to treat a fraudulent list, which the company masterminded, is nothing but a clear intention to ridicule the throne and subvert the will of His Majesty. We have our evidence both on video and pictures to drive home our demands”.
