The newly elected Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko Jumbo, has received warm congratulations from Ndeesor Effort, a highly respected figure of the Ogoni ethnic group and veteran youth leader.
In a chat with Kristina Reports recently in Port Harcourt, Effort lauded Jumbo as an exemplary choice for the position, hailing him as a “square peg in a square hole”.
In a display of unwavering support, the experienced youth leader pledged his allegiance to the new Speaker, expressing utmost confidence in Jumbo’s ability to excel in his role.
Victor Oko-Jumbo, a graduate of Marine Engineering from the Rivers State University, Nkpolu Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, a governance enthusiast, and educational rights advocate was elected the new Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Ndeesor extended his gratitude to the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, praising his keen insight and magnanimity.
He further encouraged Governor Fubara to disregard any distractions and maintain his focus on delivering on his promises to the state, as he has previously indicated.
He added that the Governor’s effort at stabilizing the State House of Assembly, which he described as “a critical institution in the governance equation” was key to returning the State on the path of progress and development.
He called on all stakeholders to rally around the Governor and the Speaker to move the State forward and out of the doldrums of the eight locust years wherein the State witnessed retrogression, stagnation and lack of development.
