Nigerian female football national team, the Super Falcons, today, recorded her first victory against the South Korean female side at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
The Super Falcons won by two goals to nil.
The first goal in 29th minutes came by an own goal from the South Korean defender Kim Doyeon by a miscalculated move by the player who tries to clear Okobi’s long shot over the top but did not realise the goalkeeper, Kim Minjung has left her line to collect the ball but the ball past the goalkeeper and the Nigerian player and the ball entered the empty net.
The second goal came as an assist in the 75th minute of the second half from Okeke to Oshoala who used her strength to get past Hwang on the edge of the box before the Nigerian striker at a very tight angle slides the ball into the net.
The Super Falcons bounced back from a three nil defeat in their opening game against Norway on Saturday.
Their first victory today made them level with France and Norway in Group A which places the Super Falcons on a high advantage of qualifying for the next round.
Their next encounter which is the last group game will be against the host country France on Monday June 17.
