Arsenal are the 2023 FA Community Shield Champions following a 4-1 victory on penalties over Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday.

Just when it looked like Manchester City had beaten Arsenal to yet another Trophy, the Arteta-driven side got back into the game through Leandro Trossard’s injury-time goal provided by Bukayo Saka, to drag the game to penalties where they won 4-1.

Recall that Arsenal lost the Premier League title to Manchester City in the final stages of the 2022/23 Season.

It is Arsenal’s 17th FA Community Shield title, the second-most of any club after Manchester United (21).

Manchester City, meanwhile, have lost the title for the third consecutive time. Losing 1-0 to Leicester City in 2021, 3-1 to Liverpool in 2022 and now Arsenal in 2023
