There is raging pandemonium in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State as elements believed to be members of the proscribed notorious Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and Hausa/Fulani Community in the area clash.

Kristina Reports reliably learnt that earlier in the day suspected Hausa/Fulani elements allegedly killed a pregnant woman at Oil Mill Area of Elelenwo and that sparked reprisal attacks on their kith and kin inside Oyigbo.

Eyewitnesses told Kristina Reports that IPOB elements have been burning houses and killing people of Northern extraction in the course of unleashing their anger on the Nigeria Police.

Both groups are at daggers drawn across the Seaside and Express areas of Oyigbo spreading down to yam zone and ‘TAP’ areas.

Though security operatives comprising the police and military have been deployed in the area, unconfirmed reports have it that there was heavy fighting between the rival groups in different parts of the LGA.

Efforts by Kristina Reports to reach the State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, and the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omoni Nnamdi proved abortive as they did respond to calls or messages to their mobile lines.
