Rivers-born ‘Bobby Blankson’ goes for gold at ‘Live Your Dream’ Contest

As the countdown hots up for the ‘Live Your Dream’ Music and Dance Contest billed to start on October 10, 2020, Rivers State born Blankson Perewari Ugele, also known as Bobby Blankson, will be representing big time on that stage.  

The contest is expected to bring together upcoming artistes, music composers, dancers, choreographers, among many others from around the country.

The winner will go home with a grand prize of N90 million (A N50 million worth 4-bedroom apartment in Lagos, and N40 million cash prize), while the first and second runners-up wil get N5 million and N3 million, respectively.

The University of Port Harcourt graduate told Kristina Reports that “My expectation in the competition is to win”, expressing his desire to “use that platform to create opportunities for younger and talented artistes who are aspiring to become a great professional dancers and choreographers in the Dance industry”.

Regretting that “dancers in Rivers State have not been carried along in most of the activities in Port Harcourt,” Bobby Blankson stressed that “winning this contest will enable me do this for my fans and dancers in Rivers State”.

Blankson Perewari Ugele, who is a professional dancer, choreographer and President of Port Harcourt Dance Association (PDA), Rivers State, hails from Abalama in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The 34 year old, who had his primary and secondary education at UPE Model School, Borikiri, and Stella Maris College, Port Harcourt, respectively, studied Business Administration at the University of Port Harcourt, and also has certification in Dance Choreography and a Fireman’s Certificate of Competency.

Bobby Blankson, who is one of ten children, six boys and four girls, born to Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ugele of the Orumadikis family in Abalama in Asari-Toru LGA, has dancing, singing, football and traveling as his hobbies.

Fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite contestants by downloading the ‘Live Your Dream’ app from Google Playstore and Apple Store, where they can get all the information they need about the competition.

“I hope to make Rivers State proud, and want all my brothers and sisters in Rivers State to vote for me to enable me win. They’ll be on to superb performances from me, that, I can promise them,” Bobby Blankson said.

The competition is expected to run from October to December 6, 2020 when the winner and runners-up will be unveiled at the grand finale.

According to a statement on the ‘Live Your Dream’ website, “A notable element of the Show is that all performances must be original. This is true of all acts including singers and dancers which means no covers, only original work may be used”.

“The show will be broadcast live from start to the very end, the Final Results Show. All Twelve (12) Episodes are Live and will be aired on the Africa Magic Urban channel in Nigeria and 52 other African countries from Saturday September 26th, 2020 to Sunday December 6th, 2020 for the Results Show.”
