The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has appealed to the people of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State to assist it with information that will lead to apprehending of the kidnappers of the Banigo Four and rescue of their victims.

Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, who made this appeal in a telephone chat with Kristina Reports, said the Police needs the support of the local communities in its efforts to ensure a secure environment for people to go about their normal businesses.

“We are still investigating. But we still come back to your people to help us with information to apprehend these guys and rescue their victims.”

Six days after Thompson Allison, Daniel Hart, Theophilus Ibiama and Sunny Hart, all titled citizens of Bonny Kingdom, were whisked away from Finiapiri-Ama (Amauda) in Banigo Isile-Ogono Community, no contact has been made with their families.

The four titled citizens were in Banigo Isile-Ogono to pay their last respects to a departed colleague, late Kenneth Banigo.

Kristina Reports also reliably gathered that four of the victims who sustained gunshots wounds have been discharged from one of the medical facilities in Bonny.

Leader of Bonny Legislative Assembly, Miriam Hart, who was operated upon and bullet slugs removed from her body, was also said to have remarkably improved and was in high spirits as at the time of this report. The island LGA is relatively calm with palpable apprehension in the air as residents gradually recover from the shock of Saturday’s grisly attack.
