Lagos State partners with Knowledge Hub for capacity building in public service

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Knowledge Hub Limited, a subsidiary of Knowledge City, Gte, Vienna, Austria to build capacity in knowledge management, research and documentation in the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), in other to effectively deliver good governance in the state’s public service domain.

This was disclosed by Mr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison, director general, (PSSDC) during the official signing ceremony at Magodo, Lagos.

He further stated that the centre will continue to seek partnerships and collaboration with local and international organisations that have the capacity to further enhance its vision for the state public service.

While appreciating the collaborative efforts of Knowledge Hub Limited and its desire to enhance intelligence in Lagos, he stressed that the partnership is a historic one that will have positive multiplier effects on knowledge management and capacity building within the Nigerian economy and beyond.

“PSSDC is pleased to partner Knowledge Hub, not only for the mutual benefit of the two institutions but also that of Lagos State in particular and Nigeria in general,” he said.

The director general reiterated the desire of the centre in continuously seeking partnership to boost capacity adding that the centre has been providing curriculum for knowledge development in the state’s public service assuring it will not rest on its oars as it continues to be a major contributor in national development, through provision of cutting-edge relevant learning and development programmes with technology-driven resources.

Lekan Fadina, managing director, Knowledge Hub Limited, commended PSSDC for a seamless initiation of the collaborative process, maintaining that the partnership will kick start the development of human capital that will transform Nigeria into a knowledge economy and society with Lagos as the epicentre. He added that the partnership with the state government is strategic and harped on the need for swift implementation of the partnership deal as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding.

“Knowledge Hub is committed and would use inter-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary and collaborative approaches to bring about sustainable development of Public Servants and other relevant stakeholders through knowledge sharing,” he said.
