A lawmaker in Rivers State has said that the people of the State have made their choice through casting the ballot on March 9, 2019 and that choice was Nyesom Wike, the incumbent Governor of the State.
The lawmaker, Kingston Roberts, who represents Ward 2 in Bonny Local Government Area of the State, noted that with the large turnout of voters witnessed during the governorship and House of Assembly polls, it was evident that the people wanted Wike returned as their leader.
Roberts, in a chat with Kristina Reports, highlighted the developmental strides of the Governor in his first tenure, stressing that “with roads, schools and health facilities built everywhere and many other empowerment programmes that have touched the lives of the people it is not surprising that the people would vote for him again”.
“Obviously, one good term deserves another. Rivers people saw what he did in his first term and decided to reward him with a second term, and that is with the confidence that he will do more in his second term.”
He appealed to Wike’s opponents to consider reconciling with him to bring about the needed development to the State, praising those of them who endorsed him ahead of the polls.
He maintained that what the State needed right nbow is peace and unity in order for us to move forward as a people. We need to put aside our differences and come together to support His Excellency, Gov Wike to achieve the progress and development we all pray for”.
