Lagos Helicopter Crash Update: Death Toll rises to 3; Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu commiserate with victims

Three persons on board a Bell Helicopter 206B3 belonging to Quorum Aviation Limited have lost their lives on Friday in Lagos.

According to sources, two adult males instantly lost their lives while the third male was confirmed dead few hours after he was rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

An adult male, the lone survivor who was rescued at the incident scene of Friday’s Helicopter accident in Opebi area in Lagos has been confirmed dead at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), the incident occurred at about 12 pm.

Meanwhile, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commiserated with families, relations, and friends of those who lost their lives in the crash.

Also, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has commiserated with families and relations of those who lost their lives.

The Governor who stated on his Twitter handle Friday afternoon assured residents of the state that relevant agencies would unravel the course of the accident.

“My sincere condolences to families, friends and associates of the victims of the helicopter operated by Quorum Aviation which crashed in Opebi, earlier today.

“It is indeed a very sad and unfortunate incident, and it is my prayer that God grants the deceased eternal rest and grants the families they left behind the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

“I hereby reassure residents that we’re working with all relevant Federal Government agencies to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the accident so as to prevent a reoccurrence in the future,” the governor twitted.

According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osayintolu, director general and chief executive officer of the Lagos Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) who was at the crash site, the a gency recovered wreckages of the Helicopter with the aid of the Hiab and has since been evacuated from the incident scene to Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, Office, Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, for further investigation.
