ARCO Maintenance & Engineering Limited, also known as Arco M&E, has enjoined children, especially, youths to take their education seriously as it represents the future for them.

Managing Director of Arco M&E, Michael Okoigun said this on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, during the distribution of educational materials to students in various schools in Bonny, Rivers State.

Represented by the Community Relations Officer (CRO) of the company, Christian Ezekiel-Hart, the Arco M&E MD said it was his company’s way of showing care for and giving back to the community and also encouraging the students to take their academics seriously.

“This is our way of giving back to them to encourage them to take their Education very seriously. So, Arco, being a community-friendly company, thought it wise to be able to give about 600 copies to three schools in the island.”

He stated that “this kind gesture was also done in respect to the 2024 Children’s Day celebration, as a way of Arco M&E to celebrate with the children of Bonny Island”, advising the students to embrace Education.

“Embrace Education; there is nothing in life that is bigger than Education. When you’re educated then you can easily fit in anywhere you find yourself.”

Arco M&E, which is a subsidiary of Arco Group Plc, in expression of its care for children, donated 600 company branded exercise books to each of three public schools in Bonny Island.

The schools are Community Secondary School (CSS) UBE, Finima; Community Secondary School, Abalamabie; and Bonny National Grammar School (BNGS) all in Bonny LGA.

At the various schools where the donations were made, Ezekiel-Hart stated that Education remains the fulcrum of his company’s corporate social responsibility, stressing that Arco M&E believes that the future of today’s children is embedded in Education.

ARCO Maintenance and Engineering Limited, a Nigerian-owned maintenance and engineering company, is one of the companies carrying out routine and non-routine (shutdown) activities for the gas liquefaction plant of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) in Bonny Island, Rivers State.
