The Labour Party House of Representatives candidate for the Degema/Bonny federal constituency, Dienye Pepple has assured Nigerians that their votes, unlike in the past years, will count in the 2023 general elections as such they should vote his party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, come Saturday, February 25, 2023.
In a New Year message personally signed by him and made available to Kristina Reports, Pepple asserted that the 2023 election was between the political class and Nigerians as represented by Peter Obi, maintaining that the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) was key to assuring the integrity and credibility of the forthcoming polls.
“The use of Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BIVAS) has raised the hopes of many Nigerians that their votes may count. Consequently, the masses who are angry over the failing economy, insecurity, corruption and the bitter economic hardship in the country are poised to take on the political class.”
“We shall for the first time in recent times be faced with presidential options that are not all presented to us by the political class. Before now we were usually presented with two front line options, both of whom would be core products of the political class.”
“Before the elections we already knew who will vote for who and what the eventual outcome will be, courtesy of expected manipulations.”
Insisting that the Labour Party presidential candidate was “a product of the masses”, the House of Representatives hopeful charged the Nigerian masses to brace up for the epic duel between them and the political elite, stating that the 2023 polls will test the resolve of Nigerians to resist the usual naira rain during the electioneering season and vote for Nigeria’s progress.
“This time around we have three frontline presidential candidates, one of whom can pass for a product of the masses, while the other two remain products of the political class.”
“The political class are to a large extent unperturbed by the threats of the masses as they believe it will be business as usual. Their game plan is simple; buy the votes of the impoverished masses.”
“The 2023 elections will therefore test the resolve of the masses to win back their country. Will they be able to resist the naira rain that shall fall and vote for their candidate, Mr. Peter Obi and other LP candidates or will they as usual take the momentary respite of immediate cash?”
He juxtaposed the choices Nigerians have to make during the 2023 polls, noting that the outcomes of voting the political class or Peter Obi would have far-reaching effects on the country, positing that either the votes will set the country on a path of progress or equip the political class with the power to weaponized poverty and other wrong economic choices.
“The outcome of this face off will have far reaching effects on Nigeria. If on the 25th of February, 2023, the Nigerian masses vote massively for Labour Party all the way, then Nigeria will be set on the part to recovery and progress. The political class will then learn that power belongs to the people and will begin to plan for the people when next they have the opportunity.”
“On the other hand, if the masses sell out or crumble under the pressure of hunger, then the political class will re-enforce the use of poverty as a political weapon and the end of Nigeria will come sooner than we can imagine and in ways we cannot imagine.”
“It is on this note that I urge Nigerians from all walks of life to rise up and fight for Nigeria. Let’s fight knowing that our very existence individually and collectively depends on our victory. Let’s sound the trumpet and gather our army of voters. Our weapon is our PVC and our target is to vote in all Labour Party candidates, from Peter Obi and I to all others.”
He is a leader with huge difference, I count on him to effect the desire change in bonny
