Students of Rivers State origin under the aegis of the National Union of Rivers State Students (NURSS) have applauded Belema Oil, an indigenous oil exploration firm, for its sterling efforts in the educational development of the State.
NURSS said that in the pursuit of its corporate social responsibility, Belema Oil has succeeded in putting smiles on the faces of Rivers State Students.
The students gave this commendation yesterday when a delegation of the union led by its national spokesman, Valentine Jackmay, visited the headquarters of BelemaOil in Port Harcourt.
“Belema Oil, under the watch of Engr. Tein Jackrich Jr, has put smiles on the faces of Rivers youths through her corporate social responsibility more than any other company operating in Rivers State in the past three years”.
Jackmay, who is also the President, NURSS University of Port Harcourt chapter, expressed appreciation to the management of the indigenous firm for giving Rivers youths a brighter future through scholarships, skills acquisition programs, and also absorbing past student leaders as staff of the company.
Belema Oil has its oil exploration and production facilities in Kula and Idama in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Abuloma in Port Harcourt Local Government Area, and Bonny in Bonny Local Government Area, all in Rivers State.
Responding on behalf of the management of Belema Oil, the Manager, Community Relations and External Matters, Samuel Abel-Jumbo thanked the union for taking out time to visit and encourage the good things that the firm under Engr. Jackrich Tein was doing for Belema Oil’s host communities and Nigeria, in general.
He noted that the company’s contributions to development of society was very visible for all to see.
He assured the union of the company’s support in its efforts at ensuring a peaceful transition from its forthcoming election to the inauguration of a new executive, as well as its National Convention.
