Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s re-election has been attributed to his sterling performance during his first term in office which impacted positively on the lives of the people.
The massive and very visible developmental strides of the Governor endeared him to the hearts of Rivers people who came out en masse to give him almost a million votes that saw to his victory at the polls.
Vice Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Anengi Barasua stated this in a chat with Kristina Reports shortly after Wike was declared winner of the election.
Wike, who was candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 886,264 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Awara Biokpomabo, who polled 173,859 votes.
Barasua maintained that Wike had touched the lives of the people and improved their lot and as such deserved a second tenure which opportunity has now been accorded him by the people of the state.
“Look at the roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, and several other projects he has done; also look at the Pleasure Park and empowerment initiatives that have impacted the lives of the people positively, you will then understand why they came out en masse to vote for him,” she said.
The Bonny Vice Chairman thanked God for rewarding the efforts of the 23 Vice Chairmen with a victory for the Governor and the PDP, stressing that “God has blessed our efforts, I mean the 23 Vice Chairmen, who worked for His Excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike’s re-election”.
The Bonny Number Two citizen appealed to the people of the State to support the Governor to achieve his vision in his second tenure while calling on Wike to do more to meet the expectation of the people.
