The Bonny Utility Company (BUC) says it was working round the clock to restore power fully across Bonny Local Government Area and pleaded with residents of the area to be patient with it.
The company further stated that its technical staff alongside the Nigeria LNG and Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) were on the field 24 hours in a frantic bid to fix the fault.
In a chat with Kristina Reports, BUC’s Community Relations Coordinator, David Allison revealed that the problem identified was an earth fault on the long underground cable which supplies electric power to the BUC substation.
The BUC manages the electricity and water distribution in Bonny LGA.
Allison appealed for patience and understanding from BUC’s customers, assuring that serious efforts were ongoing to fix the problem so that the people of Bonny can have 24 hours electricity supply again.
“People should be patient with us as we are doing everything to rectify the problems and restore power supply”.
He debunked insinuations that any part of the town was more favoured than the other in the distribution arrangements, saying that though the company encountered challenges in its load shedding plan but those have been resolved now.
