As a fallout of the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and nationals of other African countries residing in South Africa, some drivers from its neighbours have decided to stop South African drivers from passing through their borders.
The drivers from Tanzania, Namibia, Mozambique, and Congo, among others, said the decision to stop the South African drivers from passing through their borders was in response to the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
They asserted that only their compatriots can drive through their respective countries.
They further demanded employers in South Africa to use sea ports in other African countries.
Already, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, and several others have announced their boycott of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa holding in South Africa.
Nigeria had also withdrawn her High Commissioner to South Africa and announced through her Foreign Ministry that it was deploying a commercial airline, Air Peace to evacuate its citizens willing to return home from South Africa on Friday.
