Short film The Interrogation of Lotanna has secured six nominations at the prestigious 2025 FilmJoint Awards.
The FilmJoint platform is dedicated to promoting short films worldwide, giving filmmakers an avenue to showcase their creativity.
Its annual awards recognize excellence and outstanding contributions to African cinema.
This year, The Interrogation of Lotanna emerged as a standout contender, with nominations in categories such as Best Jury Award for Outstanding Storytelling, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Indigenous Film (Nigeria), Best African Film, Best Director, and Best Picture.
Produced by Ibukun Serah Adetoyinbo and Oreoluwa Obadofin, the film narrates the gripping story of Captain Ardo, a commander tasked with quelling a rebellion in the east.
His mission to identify the rebellion’s leader, Zuru Nkwu, leads to Lotanna, a key suspect who maintains his innocence despite intense interrogation.
The cast features William Chinoyenem, Cassey Oritsejolomi, Anthony Nwahiri, Francis Sule, Michael Embraiz, and Mr. Rala.
Earlier this year, the film won Best Nollywood Short Film at the Realtime International Film Festival in Birmingham, UK.
