Teen wife, Regina Nwoko had her husband, Ned Nwoko sent packing from the Senate by the Supreme Court today.

Prior to today’s verdict by the apex court, Nwoko was the senator representing Delta South Senatorial district in the National Assembly.

But his rival at the primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the just concluded 2019 election, Peter Nwaoboshi, challenged his victory at the Federal High Court.

Though Nwoko won at the Federal High Court, his victory was later upturned by the Court of Appeal where Nwaoboshi appealed the tribunal’s judgment.  

The Court of Appeal declared Peter Nwaboshi winner, upturning the initial Federal High Court ruling that declared Ned Nwoko as the rightly elected choice of the people.

But the Supreme Court in Abuja this morning finally announced Peter Nwaboshi the winner of the Delta State Senatorial elections after a long battle for the slot.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the two suits filed by Ned Nwoko, challenging the election of Peter Nwaoboshi as the PDP candidate representing Delta North district in the Oct. 2, 2018 primary of the party held in Delta.

The five-man panel of justices led by Justice Inyang Okoro, dismissed the suit for lack of jurisdiction.
