Sportsmen and women as well as officials and other stakeholders involved in sports development need to be availed multifaceted support to enable succeed in their chosen profession, says the Chief Executive Officer of Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL), High Chief Peter Esievo.
Chief Esievo said this on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Finals of the 2022 Amanyanabo Football Tournament at the Government School field, Bonny, Rivers State organized by Grafton Entertainment with sponsorship from the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG).
“You will agree with me that the guys who are doing this deserve some kind of encouragement and it is on this note that my organization is donating the sum of N3million to support the tournament.”
He stated that the donation which he said would be shared amongst the winners and runners-up of the tournament and officials, was aimed at bolstering what the Nigeria LNG was already doing, explaining that such support was critical to continue to render sports, especially, football as talent discovery platform.
Reiterating his company’s ongoing commitment to the development of football, the Evomec boss commended the Nigeria LNG for the tournament which is organized annually in honour of the Amanyanabo and Ama-na-Koroma (Natural Ruler) of Bonny Kingdom, expressing the optimism that it would continue to unveil raw talents and provide an avenue for youths to develop their skills.
In attendance were the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, JP, DSSRS, Perekule XI, who showcased his football skills when he took the kick off of the Finals.
With him were the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Dame Anengi Barasua, and Managing Director of Nigeria LNG, Dr Philip Mshelbila, among other special guests.
