Governor-elect of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has promised to consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors by taking Lagos to greater heights.
He said this during acceptance speech minutes ago, shortly after he was declared winner of the governorship election in the state.
Sanwo-Olu, who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 739, 445 votes to win his closest rival Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 206,141 votes to emerge first runner-up.
Surrounded by party chieftains while delivering his acceptance speech, Sanwo-Olu promised to advance the infrastructure of the state while developing concrete plans for investment.
He also pledged to enhance social services in a bid to improve the lives of the people of the state.
The governor-elect, who also announced that his opponent, Agbaje had called to congratulate him, said the PDPD candidate thanked him for his altruism and promised support his administration.
He further asserted that the policy thrust of his administration will be to make “Lagos stand as the economic capital of Africa,” adding that “we will push ourselves to an even greater Lagos. Lagos is already great but we will improve on that status”.
