Fiery as ever, Dr Chidi Lloyd, the Director General of the Tonye Cole/Victor Giadom/APC Campaign Organization, spoke with Kristina Reports, Editor-in-Chief, Godswill Jumbo, on controversies trailing his party’s congresses and primaries in Rivers State, among other issues in the run up to the 2019 general elections.

The former lawmaker representing Emohua Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly did not disappoint his legendary pungency in dealing with issues affecting the polity. Enjoy his views:

Kristina Reports: There have been controversies surrounding your party’s congresses in Rivers State, what exactly are the issues?

Chidi Lloyd: Just as you rightly stated, it is controversy . The details will be made public soon.

KR: The National Chairman of your party, the APC, Adams Oshiomhole said yesterday that there will be fresh congresses in Rivers State, will this affect your candidates?

Lloyd: We’ll look at the details…

KR: As DG of the party’s campaign, what should Rivers people consider in voting your candidates, Tonye Cole, and all others?

Lloyd: Rivers people should resist monetary inducements from the PDP and vote Tonye Cole for job creation and wealth distribution.

KR: What detailed plans does Tonye Cole and APC have to bolster Rivers economy?

Lloyd: If you know Tonye’s pedigree in business, you would imagine what he intends to do, but wait till campaigns start.

KR: There are fears that the 2019 elections may witness widespread violence as 2015, do you think so?

Lloyd: No, I don’t. The electorates are now better informed.

KR: With yesterday’s action by WAEC, has your presidential candidate fulfilled the Constitutional and Electoral requirements for eligibility to contest the 2019 polls?

Lloyd: Absolutely. He has always fulfilled the requirements. What happened was just the issuing of an attestation to show he obtained the grades in the exams.

KR: Recently, your fellow party faithful sued Gov Wike for forgery. Is this your party’s strategy to oust him before the elections?

Lloyd: My party didn’t bring any suit against Gov. Wike, rather, his erstwhile classmate did.

KR: But your party stands to benefit from the outcome of the suit should the court find Wike guilty of crime…

Lloyd: I’d rather you say the society will benefit from it.
