All is now set for the take-off of processes leading to the commencement of normal physical academic activities at the University of Port Harcourt, Choba.
An internal memo authored by the university’s Director, School of Basic Studies, Professor Ekanem Wokoma, which gave this indication of reopening, hinted that the resumption is only for Basic students of the University of Port Harcourt who are to attend with all their documents for physical clearance.
Professor Wokoma added that the process will as well include Basic students that paid fees but do not have all study materials, and students who paid fees but have been unable to carry out clearance exercise.
He added that students who were allowed to write their exams on condition that they will pay their fees should proceed for such payments and clearance.
The Director further enjoined staff and students to strictly observe all COVID-19 health advisories in the course of the process that is billed to commence on Monday 8th, June, 2020 from 10am to 2pm weekdays on campus.
Checks by Kristina Report show that this will be the first full-scale tertiary institution operation since after the Federal Government of Nigeria did shut schools in the country on March 26, 2020, an indication that the coming days may see to expedited reopening of social facilities with adherence to the COVID-19 hygiene protocol.
