Just like in the works of Shakespeare where he stated “O, beware, my lord, of Jealousy; it is the green-ey’d monster, which doth mock the meat it feeds on.” Furthermore, Julius Caesar said, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.”

If the above words don’t vividly capture the uncautionable macabre dance surreptitiously being orchestrated by those who had sold their souls to the devil, in the vain attempt to please their god of mammon, how else does one describe these evil expeditions where brothers are procured to pull down and destroy themselves and the rising political capital.

For the avoidance of doubt today in Rivers State governance, Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, is the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, the number three man in the entire State. Unarguably the first Bonny man to occupy that exalted position of speakership.

For some days, a few faceless and praise singing individuals, who are nothing but willing cannon fodders in the hand of a power drunk individual had contrived for themselves an evil plot to dim the rising political fortune of our LGA. We are aware of clandestine meetings going on presently, where some persons, claiming to be stakeholders and executives of PDP Bonny LGA have already finalized plans to suspend Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly through their surrogates in ward 10. This they intend to achieve by coercing, threating, cajoling and where possible lure the gullible ones with stolen funds.

Before these harbingers of evil, destruction and doom; Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo’s crime is standing up for fairness and equity. The Governor’s own offence is his political will to steer Rivers State out of the unfathomable grip and greed of some people whose quest to perpetually grab and plunder Rivers treasury has made him think himself a thin god.

I, hereby, state on behalf of myself and other well-meaning men of goodwill that:

1. We condemn in the strongest possible terms the unprecedented aggression and politics of calumny against Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo and Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Amaopusenibo Siminialayim Fubara, by this unprovoked actions by those who do not mean well for Bonny and Rivers State at large. 
2. Such use of force and coercion should not have a place in this 21st century political firmament. 
3. We unequivocally affirm our stand firmly by Rt. Hon, Victor Oko Jumbo and His Excellency, Governor Siminialayim Fubara in the face of this unwarranted provocative tendencies.
4. We demand an immediate stop to the harassment, intimidation and incendiary activities and plots targeted at pulling down the Speaker of Rivers state House of Assembly. 
5. Power and position of authority comes from God; He gives to whomever He wishes. Today Governor Sim and Victor are our Governor and Assembly Speaker, respectively, should be allowed to work for Rivers people in line with the oath they swore to uphold.  
6. We assert that any attempt to further exacerbate the fragile peace in our polity by this merchants of doom and brigandage will be strongly and roundly resisted by every means possible. The resolve of the good people of Bonny and Rivers state at large should not be tested in this regard. 
7. Bonny LGA did not record any form of democratic dividend in the 8 years’ tenure of the past administration. Therefore, we question the rationale driving the so-called apostles of doom in Bonny other than crass display of greed, avarice and wanton disregard for the yearning and true feelings of the masses. 
8. We urge the good and respected people of Ward 10 PDP to strongly resist their antics and N5,000 politics being shamefully dispensed by men who don’t mean well for our local government, with the intent of manipulating you towards betraying and maligning your son who is currently occupying the exalted position of Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly.

We therefore, call on all those involved in this dirty and wicked plot to desist forthwith, and rally hands together in supporting the current Governor of Rivers State in moving the State to greater heights.
