Police Promise Prompt Probe in Tragic Death of 3 Kids in Rivers, Condoles Bereaved Family
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has vowed to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate death of three children from the same family in Rivers State.
Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Blessing Agabe, a Superintendent of Police (SP), in a statement on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 said that the State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, describing the loss as painful and irreparable.
The statement stated that the Command expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of the three children from the same family, an incident that has sparked widespread grief across the State, while praying for strength and comfort for the family during the difficult period.
The Command assured the public that a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is already underway, emphasising that all necessary steps would be taken to ensure justice is served in line with the law.
He also urged residents to remain calm, refrain from spreading unverified information, and cooperate fully with investigators as efforts continue to uncover the facts.
The Rivers State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and ensuring that anyone found responsible is brought to justice.
